A groundbreaking introduction to TCC has arrived—our first beta version! This beta adds tons of new content involving 1.17, and also updates existing code to improve functionality. There isn’t much new content TCC-wise, but plenty of work has gone into updating to 1.17.
Additions
Amethyst Dust
Currently has no use
Planned to be used within jewelry tables
Amethyst dust is created when breaking certain amethyst blocks under certain circumstances:
- Breaking any amethyst bud that hasn’t been fully grown (Large/medium/small amethyst buds, 50/35/25% chance, respectively)
- Breaking any amethyst block with an anvil (10% chance)
- Breaking a fully grown amethyst bud with the incorrect tool (20% chance)
Photometer
Used to measure light level
Has four stages
- Lowest light, light levels 0-3
- Low light, light levels 4-7
- High light, light levels 8-11
- Highest light, light levels 12-15
Each of these four stages corresponds to a certain kind of mob spawning, so you don’t need to worry about specific numbers, and have a simplistic GUI instead
At lowest light, bats will spawn, at low light, normal overworld monsters spawn, at high light, monsters will spawn in the nether, and at highest light, nothing spawns

The recipe
Glow Berry Muffin
A simple variant of the Sweet Berry Muffin
Crafted with glow berries instead of sweet berries
Gives same amount of hunger as the usual sweet berry muffin
Snail Mucus
Not obtainable in survival yet, will be obtainable in survival when the snail mob is added
Craftable into a slime block
Anvil Smashing
Anvils can now smash amethyst and tinted glasss
Block Breakers
Block breakers can now be crafted with blackstone or deepslate
Silk Touch Infested Deepslate

Changes

Jewelry Table
The jewelry table is currently a massive work in progress. The enchantment mechanics have been removed along with a bunch of other stuff, so more on this next week. It’s going to use amethyst dust later.
Increased Shulker Drops
Shulkers now drop two shells 100% of the time with looting III
Locket of Learning
The locket of learning now spawns an experience orb rather than using /xp, which means you can use it to store experience to repair your tools
Improved Textures
Improved gobblerift, sweet berry muffin, and swordfish textures
Miscellaneous Changes
1.17 updates:
- Updated nearly everything to 1.17
- Many pieces of code have been updated to use 1.17’s new item modifier mechanic, making things a lot cleaner and efficient
- This does not include rings due to the ongoing jewelry table rework
- Relevant changes are noted in above sections
