It’s been a bit since the last update, and we’re still hard at work in the background working on 1.6, but we’re not quite ready to show that off yet.

To tide you over, here’s a small update with tons of bugfixes, horse armor improvements, enchanted golden carrot changes, heavy optimizations, and more.

This is also the first full release published with my brand-new publishing scripts, which I’ve spent quite a long time working on. These will automatically pull translations from crowdin, allow me to publish ports super fast, and integrate public betas with Modrinth and Smithed. We’ve also abandoned Planet Minecraft since it’s stinking and awful.

Additions

Horse Armor Improvements

You can now enchant horse armor with:

  • Protection
  • Fire Protection
  • Blast Protection
  • Projectile Protection
  • Thorns
  • Frost Walker
  • Soul Speed
  • Depth Strider
  • Feather Falling

You can now craft horse armor, and it is no longer found in as many loot chests, reducing inventory clutter

Rooted Dirt Recipe

You can now craft rooted dirt by combining dirt and hanging roots

Changes

Enchanted Golden Carrot

Enchanted golden carrots are no longer craftable

  • This is because they pretty much outclassed night vision potions in every way

They now give 40 minutes of night vision rather than 15

They are now found exclusively in loot

  • They can be found in mansion chests in counts of 2-3
  • They can be found in badlands temple chests in counts of 2-3
  • They can be found in ancient city archaeology
    • This makes them renewable via echoing hourglass

More Potted Plants

Custom potted plant interactions are now more consistent with vanilla

More Music Disc Loot

More vanilla music discs can be found in TCC structures

  • “wait” can be found in tundra keeps
  • “blocks” can be found in badlands temples

Turtle Shell Improvements

Turtle scute items no longer last 20 minutes before despawn

  • This was not worth the performance hit it gave, and was weird with droppers/dispensers spawning the item
  • Just farm your turtles on top of hoppers

Wrench

Wrenches now take durability damage when rotating players.

Turns out being able to rotate your enemies with no durability loss is pretty powerful.

Stackable Used Compass Items

Used smoldering seekers, weeping eyes, and reactive seekers are now stackable

Removed Leashability

Sprouters and snails can no longer be leashed

  • This stopped being technically feasible and became incredibly buggy

Miscellaneous Changes

Tooltip look overhaul

  • The text that reads “The Creeper’s Code” on items has a fancy new look

Rewrote the clocking system for the entire pack, improving optimization by quite a bit

  • This also means there will probably be bugs associated with this. Blame the beta testers who didn’t find them.

Removals

Frost Walker Mounts

Replaced with horse armor being able to be enchanted with frost walker

The only small loss here is not being able to use your frost walker on pigs, striders, or other weird mounts
