Diluted potions are a new potion type, created by brewing an amethyst shard into a normal potion.

Diluting a potion divides its duration into ten ‘sips’. For example, diluting a 60 second speed potion gives you a 6 second diluted potion with ten uses.

History

1.6.5Beta 1*

Diluted potions are now brewed with amethyst shards instead of amethyst dust, as amethyst dust has been removed.

Hmm, perhaps there could be an echo shard potion type in the future…

1.1.1*

Diluted potion textures now use the paletted permutations resource pack feature, greatly simplifying their structure

1.0.0+

A new potion type, created by brewing amethyst dust into a normal potion

Basically the equivalent of the now-removed soaked rings

They “dilute” the potion’s duration over ten uses

  • For example, diluting a speed potion with a 60 second duration gives you a 6 second potion you can drink ten times.

Very useful for potions like slow falling and fire resistance.
