The enchanted golden apple recipe (8 gold blocks and an apple) has been re-added after it was removed by Mojang.
This was quickly removed after the Nether Update which made gold much easier to get in large amounts.
In modern times, enchanted golden apples are made renewable via the echoing hourglass.
