Enchanters are a “support” illager that help hostile mobs with magic buffs. They are the main inhabitants of the woodland mansion, and will rarely drop heavily enchanted books when killed. They also drop books and experience bottles.

An enchanter

Enchanters care more about reading than you. They’re entirely harmless aside from their support buffs.

History

1.6.0Beta 2*
  • Enchanters are now much much more threatening
  • Rather than giving a random potion effect for a short time (strength, speed, regeneration, or resistance), they instead give full damage immunity, regeneration, and a damage boost.
  • This effect is telegraphed via enchanting glyph particles spawning around the mob every second, as well as sounds and particles when you hit the affected mob.
  • Enchanter movement speed is now much higher as well, so you’ll struggle to catch them more often
  • Enchanters will no longer target non-illager mobs, making it less likely that they waste an enchantment on a random mob lurking outside the mansion
  • Enchanters now attempt to enchant mobs more often
1.5.0*
  • All TCC mobs now have new, smoother animations
  • This took eons to do, and relies on the new 1.21.4 composite model system
  • Enchanters and Iceologers also have capes due to this change
1.4.0Release-

Enchanter Locket of Learning Drop

Enchanters no longer drop lockets of learning, and instead drop enchanted books rarely

  • The locket of learning is still renewable via woodland mansion archaeology and the echoing hourglass
Release-

Raid Illagers

Enchanters and iceologers no longer spawn in raids

  • This was simply confusing for users as they did not count towards the progress bar
1.3.0*

Made enchanter spell sounds less annoying

1.2.1*

Enchanters no longer give level II potion effects. They now give level I effects instead.

  • Strength II on vindicators is not fun

Enchanters can now give the regeneration effect to their allies

Enchanters no longer drop enchanted books

Enchanters will now only drop lockets of learning if they are spawned from a raid

  • This is to prevent mansions from giving far too many lockets
1.1.0Beta 3*

The effects given by enchanters now last longer

0.5.0Beta 9*

Made it so viewing illager entities in spectator mode looks somewhat proper, rather than a broken z-fighting mess

Iceologer and geomancer attacks now benefit from the strength effect

Beta 3*

Tons and tons of texture changes. Dyed bundles, frostblooms, frostbloom petals, gobblerifts, sweet berry muffins, swordfish, jewelry tables, enchanters, iceologers, cakes, bat wings, lockets of learning, peculiar berries, rings, smoldering seekers, teacups, and rotten porkchops. Basically anything that looked kinda iffy last version. They’ve all been fixed up. Frostblooms are my particular favorite this version, they’ve definitely got quite the glow-up. Especially the petals, too!

0.4.0+

A direct port from Minecraft Dungeons. It gives nearby illagers and zombies positive effects, and drops the locket of learning and plenty of other nice loot.
